Minnesota Raccoon
A Raccoon - Procyon lotor - in Minnesota. I think he was a bit young - something had just startled him, and he went up a tree. When I came by, he watched me for a while, not sure what to do. Eventually he decided I wasn't a threat, came down and wandered off.
Cougars
These 2 cougars (mountain lions, Puma concolor) were rescued as orphaned cubs in California, and now live in captivity. Although not related, they've formed a close bond.

This Black-tailed Prairie Dog (Cynomys ludovicianus) lives in Devil's Tower National Monument in Wyoming. The residents of this pairie dog town are quite used to humans and calmly go about their lives as long as you maintain a respectful distance.

A Friend At The Door
This hardy Minnesota squirrel lives in our yard and sometimes, in the winter, seems to wish our relationship could be closer. But don't worry about him, he actually makes a pretty good living from the stray seed that ends up underneath the bird feeders.
