Insects live and work in a world of amazing botanical structure and intense color that we can barely imagine. I try to capture the beauty of these wildly varied and amazingly successful creatures, in the small yet dazzling world they live in.

Monarch Butterfly on Milkweed
Monarch butterfly, Danaus plexippus, perched on Swamp Milkweed, Asclepias incarnata. Milkweed is critical for the Monarch life cycle; they will only lay eggs on this plant.
